State Forensics

State Forensics

As the year comes to a close so does the forensics season. As every year the season ends with a state competition. In order for anyone to go to state you would need to qualify for it by getting a higher place in the regular competitions. Zatthias Bennet, Ben Meador, Malachai Meador, Anabeth Ratzlaff, and Kiley Whipple all qualified for state forensics at the HWY 54 meet, while Trinity Denton and Alexia Watson qualified for state at the Meade meet.

State looked a little different than the meets in the past. Instead of leaving on a big trip to go to state, the team got to stay in their hometown and competed virtually. Each member who went to state got a ranking or a place. Three of the team members went to state festival, Trinity Denton performing her prose piece got a 1 ranking and the IDA team of Zatthias Bennet and Anabeth Ratzlaff got a 1 Ranking as well. The rest of the team went to state champions, Ben Meador got 3rd place in impromptu, Kiley Whipple got 5th in impromptu, and the IDA team of Ben Meador and Malachai Meador got 2nd place.

The forensics team did a very good job at representing Ingalls Highschool and the team finished the season with a trip to the bowling alley and a dinner out. It was a good year for the team, nearly all the team made it to state. The team  cannot wait until next year where they can try to get to state all over again and make even more memories of the team building and fun included in the forensics season.
