Over Population

 Overpopulation

America suffers the same way all of the world suffers, overpopulation. Overpopulation, or overabundance, occurs when a species' population becomes so excessive that people deem it must be managed. It can result from an increase in births, a decline in the death rate, an increase in immigration, or a depletion of resources. One of the worst places that has overpopulation is the eastern hemisphere of the earth. Overpopulation has a common theme throughout the world and that is where there are more of the industrial places the more people live in that area. Look at places like New York and even places like Wichita, these places are big cities that have a bigger choice of stores, restaurants, and more jobs. The more jobs a place has the more people move in, but at the same time  as soon as a place becomes more glamorized the more people want to live there and “make it big” hence how Hollywood is so popular.

At the root of overpopulation is the difference between the overall birth rate and death rate in populations. If the number of children born each year equals the number of adults that die, then the population will stabilize.Talking about overpopulation shows that while there are many factors that can increase the death rate for short periods of time, the ones that increase the birth rate do so over a long period of time. Along with the expansion of cities throughout the world comes the question of how do we maintain this many people without many resources at our fingertips. In some places, there are so many people it makes a place almost impossible to live in. Tokyo, Japan is a good example of this with so much air pollution and light pollution.

The discovery of agriculture by our ancestors was one factor that provided them with the ability to sustain their nutrition without hunting. This created the first imbalance between the two rates. As soon as humans began to find new ways of sustaining their families, the families began to grow and grow. Some were no longer able to keep up with how much the families grew and they could no longer provide for their families. When someone couldn’t provide, disaster struck and they were no longer able to survive in the world.

There are many problems with overpopulation in the world today including pollution and running out of supplies necessary to human’s survival. If humans are to continue the way that they are humans might run out of supplies soon. The way to solve this problem is to adapt and find new ways to grow or make supplies for humans. Overpopulation is something that has been in our world for a long time but humans have always found a way to counteract the consequences of the overpopulating. Human overpopulation is nothing new but it is sometimes overlooked. Humans have adapted and proven that they can survive through a lot of trouble and still come out strong. Overpopulation is no different, so humans will adapt and prove that they can do it.
