Summer Food Service Program Extended
SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM EXTENDED STARTING ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2020.
Ingalls USD 477 is excited to announce that our application to continue the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) has been approved by KSDE.
With the recent announcement by Sonny Perdue, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, USD 477 Food Service staff moved quickly to get applications in place to help serve our students better.
By utilizing this announced program, we will be able to provide free lunch and breakfast to all USD 477 students. This is a great opportunity for our students, families, community and school. Students must be enrolled in USD 477 to take advantage of our program. Effective Wednesday, September 9, 2020, all USD 477 students will receive free breakfast and lunch provided by the Ingalls USD 477 food service staff.
We will not be delivering food, but students utilizing Remote Learning may call our elementary secretary, Cindy Kirmer to request meals. She may be reached at (620) 335-5134. Meals for Remote Learners may be picked up every day school is in session. The meals will be available between 10:50 AM and 11:15 AM at the main elementary school entry door.
Remote Learning Students will only need to sign up once with Cindy to have meals continued. If you notify Cindy you want meals and don’t intend to pick them up on a given day please call and notify her. Anyone wanting to start meal pick up will need to notify Cindy at least 24 hours in advance.
The length of time we are able to offer this service will be determined by available federal funding and actions by the U.S. Congress. It is anticipated we will provide free meals through the remainder of the first semester (until Christmas break). We will work notify parents in a timely manner when we have to return to charging for meals.
This information will also be emailed to all parent/guardian accounts through our district GoEdustar communication system.
