Technology

In today’s world it is very important that our schools remain updated in the area of technology. We should be proud to know that over the years, the Ingalls School District has done a great job meeting those needs. Even though we are a small school, we provide many opportunities for our students.
Every classroom in our school is furnished with a small lab containing 5-10 computers. We have two full sized computer labs in the High school, and one in the middle school. Both high school and middle school computer labs are for kindergarten through senior computer instruction. These labs are available for student use throughout the entire school day.
The district has recently purchased a new sound system in order to provide quality sound for all assemblies along with two audio enhancement systems for classrooms. Ingalls Schools currently has one Smart Board, and will soon have ten Mimeo boards for classroom instruction. The Ingalls School District has numerous valuable software programs to assist with instruction and student learning.
The School Board has adopted a district technology plan which has been approved be the Kansas State Department of Education. This plan is good for the next three years. We also have a budget line item designated for technology upgrades and other technology needs.
The Ingalls School District has an active technology committee who reviews needs, requests, and makes recommendations. All major recommendations from this committee are presented to the Board of Education for final approval.
It is good to know that the students of Ingalls are receiving a quality education in the area of technology. Our students should be well-prepared for college and other technology requirements for today’s changes.
