HS Girls Track

The lady bulldogs have been working very hard and improving.The team this year consists of Kaylee Simon, Ashlyn Cure, Britlyn Beach, Hailey Minet, Regan Ast and Alexa Lightner. As the school year is winding down the lady bulldogs still have track left. On May 11th the track team will travel to Ashland for league. Even after school is out the track team will continue to work hard. On the 18th they will have Regionals; on the 25th and 26th the team will have state track at WSU. Don't forget to come and support the team as the progress.  On May 1st the girls traveled to Hodgeman Co. for an all day track meet. The girls 4x8 currently consists of Simon, Minet, Beach, and Cure and they placed 4th. Simon placed 2nd in the 2 mile and 4th in the mile. Cure PRed in javelin with a throw of 103ft. Beach tied for 3rd in highjump, and 6th in the 800. Minet cut time off of her mile, and she felt very confident about her run. Ast placed 6th in the 100m hurdles. Lightner tried the 400 for the first time. Ast stated “My goals have mostly remained unchanged for this season, and I’m still planning to qualify for state in 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles.  My timings have been far from what I’ve wanted, but I am changing my drilling and improving timing each day.” On May 4th the team traveled to Bucklin. The girls 4x8 placed 3rd. Simon placed 6th in the 800, and 4th in the mile. Minet cut time on her mile. Beach placed 4th in high jump, and tied her PRed in the 800. Ast got 3rd in the 300 hurdles, 4th in the 100 hurdles, as well as a PR in both. Lightner participated in triple jump and the 400, as well as the 4x4. The Lady bulldog track team still has three track meets left, don't forget to come out and support them!
