Ingalls to Join SPIAA

With the Santa Fe Trail League dwindling to four teams two years ago, the schools of the league made numerous requests to other schools leagues to either come join us or allow us to be admitted to their leagues. We began this procedure as a group and then later as individual schools. Currently our league consists of Moscow, Rolla, Deerfield, and Ingalls. Ingalls was fortunate to be allowed into the Southern Plains-Iroquis Activities Association (SPIAA) when Meade chose to leave for the Hi-Plains League. Meade will leave and we will join at the start of the 2010-11 school year. The SPIAA league consists of 12 teams, many who we already compete with. The other teams in the SPIAA are Ashland, Bucklin, Fowler, Greensburg, Haviland, Jetmore, Minneola, Pawnee Heights, South Central, South Gray, and Spearville. We have enjoyed the relationship we have had over many years with the Santa Fe Trail league schools but we are looking forward to this new affiliation. The quality of multi-school events in our current league has declined considerably because of the small number of schools. Our opportunity to be part of a larger league will be much better for our students.
