JH Girls Basketball

    The JH Lady Bulldogs had their first basketball practice on October 17th, and before they knew it the season was off and running… and so were the girls. The coaches for basketball are the same for volleyball, Head Coach Skyler Lightner and Assistant Coach Terra Simon. The team this year consists of 23 players and two managers, Ashlynn Teeter and Kadee Shaffer. There are four 8th graders, Courtney Bailey, Trinity Denton, Alexia Watson and Anabeth Ratzlaff. Eleven 7th graders, Josie Molinar, Abby Gillen, Taylor Davis, Makayla Keltner, Crystal Casas, Abby Lightner, Sydney Minet, Samantha Wendel, Darbi Nash, Kellee Odneal and Brianna Varela. Lastly eight 6th graders, Brooke Bailey, Nayeli Andazola, Tessa Irsik, Kami Whipple, Keely Exum, Anna Schmeeckle, Mackayla Clark, and Elly Tancayo.

    The JH Lady Bulldogs started off the season with a game at Bucklin on November 9th, to visit the Red Aces to play an A, B and C team game A team gave a tough battle but came up short with a score of 12-23. The B team played very hard and came out on top with a score of 19-14. C team gave an outrageous fight but sadly lost with a score of 6-16. Next, the Bulldogs traveled to Copeland on the 16th and played an A, B and C team game the A team pulled a close fight but sadly lost. The B team played hard but didn't quite get it, the final score was 6-23. The C team came through with a great fight and took a win with a final score of 5-4 . Then on the 20th the Hodgman Co. Longhorns traveled to Ingalls and played an A, B and C team game. The A team played very good but fell short with a score of 7-25. The B team pushed hard but sadly took a loss with a score of 9-18. The C team played a crazy hard game and came out with a tie 2-2. Then Ingalls School had their Thanksgiving break, but the girls did not stop there. They kept working hard and not giving up, they continued dribbling, passing, shooting and maybe some running! After Thanksgiving Break the bulldogs traveled to Spearville for an A and B team game only, the A team took a hard loss with a score of 5-35. The B team also took a loss with a score of 12-19. Kicking off December, the girls played Minneola at home on the 7th. The C team gave an amazing fight with a tie for a final score of 6-6. The B team called it close but came up short with a score of 8-13. The A team had a very intense game but came up one point short with a score of 21-22. Then on the 14 the South Central Timberwolves came to Ingalls for A, B and C team games. The C team played hard but sadly lost 13-18. The B team played very well with a score of 14-13. The A team took a hard loss with a final score of 8-44. On Monday the 18th the girls traveled to Pawnee Heights (Rozel) to play an A and B team game. The B team gave a hard fight but lost with a score of 4-10. As we roll into January the girls’ season is winding down. On the 4th the girls played the Ashland Blue Jays, playing an A, B, and C team games the C team lost with a score of 4-6, the B team lost with a score of 10-14, the A team played a hard game but lost with a close score 16-19. On the 11th the Satanta Indians traveled to Ingalls for A, B and C team games. The C team lost but did not fall far behind with a score of 5-6. The B team played hard and got a big win with a score of 20-11. The A team took a close loss with a final score of 16-18. On the 18th the Bulldogs traveled to Kiowa Co. to play A, B and C team games. The C team played very good and ended up winning with a score of 10-6. The B team played hard but lost with a score of 10-15. The A team took a hard loss with a score of 16-44. The last game in January is at home vs. Fowler on the 29th, the girls only played an A team game but they played amazing and got their first win of the season!

    In February the girls will begin into the tournament! This has been moved to Jetmore not Mineola! Come out and cheer on our lady bulldogs!
