Calendar Still Busy: State Assessments Begin

This is a busy time of year with spring activities beginning to show up on the schedule and for State Assessment testing. We want to remind parents that State Assessments  continue during the months of March and April. we are testing junior high and high school students in reading, math, and science. As you all know, these test are conducted in all Kansas schools each spring and are a great measure of what we are doing well in and what we need to improve on. The tests are also a big factor in determining if a school meets Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). We cannot emphasize enough how important if is for each student to do his/her best on each test. The success of our students can be enhanced by strong efforts on their part as well as getting plenty of sleep and proper nutrition during the testing dates. Please encourage your student to do their best.

We also begin our junior high and high school track practices in March as well as our first year of golf. Remember that our 3rd quarter ends March 5th and we want to encourage all parents to attend our Parent/Teacher Conferences on Thursday, March 11th, from 12:30 to 7:30 p.m. Spring Break runs from March 12th through March 22nd. Once we return from Spring Break, it is a fast-paced race to the end of school with only 31 days left for graduating seniors.
