Dear Parents,

We worked on the short e sound spelling ea this week in COMMUNICATIONS.  Our theme was foods that our families and people from other cultures eat.  We read "Treasure Pie" and "Bruno the Baker".  In these stories we talked about the text  structures sequence.  For writing we wrote cinquain poems about someone or something important to us.  We will be typing our poems and bringing them home next week.

In MATH we counted money and showed money amounts using quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies.  We identified parallel line segments, added three-digit numbers, and told and showed time to the minute.

We will have our VALENTINE PARTY on Thursday, February 14, 2008.  We will exchange valentine cards with all of our classmates on this day.  Below is a list of the students in our class.
