Mr. Thurlow

This is Mr. Roger Thurlow. He has been with Ingalls High School now four years and counting. Not only is it  his fourth year to teach, but his fourth year to coach girls basketball at Ingalls High.This is also his first year of being head coach for IHS football!  He is a big fan of sports as you can tell.He also is a fan of Seinfeld, and music.  His favorite bands are Pearl Jam along with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts .  His favorite colors are hot pink, lime green, and baby blue. Mr. Thurlow stated that he grew up in a small town like ours in Northwest Kansas called Bogue, and graduated from Palco High School.  In high school he played football, basketball, and ran track.  After high school he attended Fort Hays State University, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in history with emphasis in Secondary Education.  He decided to teach history because he had some great history teachers in the past that influenced him to try to become a quality teacher.  Some of his hobbies are playing basketball and watching movies.  A few of his favorite movies are Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and Legends of the Fall.  He also enjoys reading. A few of his favorite books are To Kill A Mockingbird, Flowers for Algernon and Ishmael.  Mr. Thurlow stated that he decided to join us “Because it reminded me of where I grew up."  He also added, “Ingalls, is a very nice town. The people here are friendly, and the students are pretty cool too.”  His previous coaching experience was at Victoria High School, where he student coached and assisted with girl’s basketball. He is recently a new daddy to his daughter Lily Wrai Thurlow. :)
